Villa Avro, Peyia, Paphos |
2 Bedroom Villa |
Property No: 1248 |
The aptly named Villa Avro, (meaning warm and
welcoming light in Greek), is a newly completed luxury villa enjoying an
elevated position, high on the picturesque Peyia hillside overlooking the
Mediterranean Sea and surrounding countryside. Situated in a quiet corner,
on the Western outskirts of Peyia, the villa benefits from a feeling of
openness with peace and quiet in abundance. Sitting out on the properties
sun terrace or balconies you could literally hear a pin drop at times as the
sun shines down, providing all the warmth you could wish for on a relaxing
Cyprus villa holiday.
Villa Avro itself is set in a small development and is entered by
private road then driveway, leading to the front of the house. The driveway
has space to accommodate 3-4 cars comfortably. As you walk up the driveway,
you pass the well manicured landscaped garden and L-Shaped sun terrace
before accessing the property at the rear, passing more planting and flowers
on the way as well as a welcoming hot tub/spa which can be used in the
daytime or evening and at any time of year.
As you enter, you are immediately taken in by the modern furnishings and
design. A cloak room is immediately on the right with an ideally sized
kitchen with modern appliances on your left. Further in, is the dining area
with smart glass toped table and the lounge which features comfortable
chocolate brown leather sofas, Silver TV and DVD player for entertainment.
Both lounge and dining area provide access to the versatile sun terrace
(facing SSE) which is a great place to enjoy sun bathing, dining, relaxing
or socialising.
An open plan staircase leads to the upstairs accommodation which includes 2
bedrooms, Main bathroom and balconies. the balconies from the master bedroom
enjoy the most wonderful views over the sea and surrounding countryside with
the rear balcony from bed 2 overlooking the nearby horses paddock and
mountains.
Villa Avro is Air Conditioned/Heated throughout with Lined curtains to all
windows. The villa's water is heated by a solar system and is usually very
hot, however there is a back up immersion should this be needed. A supply of
fresh spring water is supplied to the villa.
The village of Peyia is one of the most picturesque and popular villages in
the area. It is spread over a large area with the village centre (1.5km
away) having many good amenities including bars, restaurants, tavernas,
shops and a bank (to name but a few). Only a 5 minute drive away is the
famous Coral Bay resort with its Sandy beach for all the family as well as
its more extensive selection of nightlife and daytime activities.
Paphos itself consists of two towns, each with its very own character. Ktima
on the cliff (Upper Paphos) and Kato Paphos by the sea (Lower Paphos). One
is virtually unchanged over the centuries and thoroughly Cypriot, while the
other has expanded over the last decade from a sleepy fishing village and
harbour, into a vibrant cosmopolitan resort which is expanding and improving
each year.
In Kato Paphos, (in the archaeological park), you will find many fine
mosaics and buildings from Greek and Roman periods, plus the Harbour Castle.
Close by, is the church of St Paul's Pillar, where the pillar St Paul was
tied to can be found. Further down this road are the Tombs of the Kings and
Christian Catacombs.
Going towards the unspoilt Akamas Peninsula (3km), there is Lara Bay,
(famous for turtles) and Latchi, famous for its seafront and harbour
restaurants as well as the clean sandy beach and crystal clear waters.
Above Peyia itself, lies the road to Kathikas with its traditional Village
centre and great tavernas. The road then leads on to Cedar Valley and the
Troodos Mountains. The route is peppered with other small but charming
villages along the way. An excellent highway runs to all corners of Cyprus
but the old coast road is the most scenic route. A drive along here past
various ancient sites such as Aphrodite's Birthplace and Temple, towards
Limassol, taking in Curium, is delightful and is littered with the most
beautiful views.
